GETTING THERE:   There is a FREE hotel shuttle from the airport to the hotel.

 

THE COST:  The hotel cost per night (from Tuesday through Sunday nights) is an unbelievable $113 +tx ($56.50 per man per night, in a shared room - 2 men splitting a room cost of $113). There is an additional tax of $20.39 per room per night.

THE EVENTS

And we've refined the event further!

The Registration is OPEN to EVERYONE - members, non-members, spouses, and friends! 

And our very popular events during the week have been expanded.  This year there will be a Forum for Lodges to see what others are doing and to help others to navigate the process. Pickup quartets - find three other guys and sing a song. Look for the color 'dots' on their badge to find their voice part. Discovery Singing (Woodshedding) returns with three popular leaders. Singing the Chestnuts with Joe Browne. We have over 50 songs, many with sound tracks to sing. We'll let everyone know who is interested what songs we will cover prior to the convention so you can nail them down. And who doesn't love a great tag?  Jim Bagby and David Krause will teach you some interesting ones.

All in all, this will be our best convention yet!  Don't wait to Register for the Convention and reserve your room.    Check the boxes when you register. It helps us to know what room size we need for the event.  No obligation to attend.

Wednesday

  • For those who just can't wait to start enjoying the Music, Fellowship and FUN, the Unofficial Event will commence on Wednesday as soon as the 1st foursome rings a chord!

Thursday

  • Event Registration at the SPPBSQSUS Registration Desk will begin at 9:00am, lasting until 5:00 pm. Stop by and pick up your badge and Convention schedule.  The Event, with its Singing, Fellowship and FUN will start upon your arrival on Thursday, whenever or wherever in the Hotel a quartet begins singing (there’s a full-service restaurant, with bar and lounge, and, we are promised that food and wait-staff will be available in abundance.  Check the schedule that is on the back of your name badge to see what events are scheduled throughout the day.  And don't forget to sign up to 'Be A Judge' at the Registration table. At 6:00 pm, we will be having the Semi-Final round of our Third Annual All-Male Worldwide Barbershop Quartet Contest, in the Texas Ballroom – where SPP registered quartets will compete – with Judges having been selected from among the audience. Check our website for Quartet rules, Quartet Registration Form and Quartet Entry Form.  Quartets, be sure to register - no charge - as a SPPBSQSUS official quartet & purchase a Convention Registration before December 1st to be included in the draw.

Friday

  • Event Registration at the SPPBSQSUS Registration Desk will begin at 9:00 am and continue through the day until 5:00 pm (with a break for lunch).  Breakfast buffet is included in the Texas Ballroom before the day's activities begin. The scheduled event list will on the back of your name badge.  Special this year is a bus trip to San Antonio Riverwalk and the Alamo (there will be a charge for the bus). And of course, Singing, Fellowship and FUN can be had all day– until 6:00 pm when we commence with our Friday Evening Bash, open to all registrants, with Beer, Wine, SodaWater and Angus Beef Sliders, in the Texas Ballroom. The remainder of the evening and night is yours for Singing,  

​ Saturday

  • The Registration Desk will open at 9:00 am and close at 1:00pm for pick-up of late arrival name tags and last minute sales for the Quartet Contest.  Breakfast is included in the Texas Ballroom for our group before the days activities  Next up, the top 10 Quartet Finalists selected in Thursday’s semi-final round, will compete in the S.P.P.B.S.Q.S.U.S.  Worldwide Barbershop Quartet Contest Final Round, which will commence at 1:30 pm and end at 3:30 pm, with the presentation of awards to the top 5 Medalists, and the crowning of our 2nd Worldwide Quartet Champion. This will be followed by more free time allowing the Ballroom to be set up for our Saturday Night Banquet at 6:00 pm - where everyone is invited to come together, to enjoy a delicious meal, entertainment and singing. It is entirely possible that your meal may be interrupted by our Designated Official Interlocutor, who will call upon selected individual directors, each of whom will have a favorite song or tag to share and will wish to suffer the disrespect of the assemblage.  And your table better be prepared with a Bb song to sing at the designated time!  After our meal we will be regaled by our gala evening show performance. The Banquet and Show will be only a prelude to the rest of the evening filled with Singing, Fellowship and FUN, in our exclusive Hotel meeting rooms-- until, once again, you withdraw on two feet, or drop, and are carried out.

​Sunday

  • One final Tag before checking out of the hotel by 11:00am and wishing all Safe Travel – and savoring the new memories created and SPPBSQSUS Events to come.

REGISTERING FOR THE EVENT

Registrations and Quartet Contest Tickets are available now online in 'The Shop'

EVERYONE: Convention registration fee is $185 for everyone.   The Registration INCLUDES the Quartet Contest, the Friday night Bash Reception, Saturday Night banquet, registration materials and registration personnel.  Please, NO ONSITE REGISTRATIONS!

​​QUARTET CONTEST:  - $40 for both sessions.  For our guests and visotors who have not purchased a full Registration. There will be Semi-Finals on Thursday evening and the Top Ten Finals on Saturday afternoon. This event is open to all ticket holders (members and non-members).  Limit 600 attendees. Festival seating (no reserved seats). ​

RESERVING YOUR ROOM AND  ROOMMATE

When you are registering, indicate that you have a roommate to share your room.   It is your responsibility to find a roommate.  Check the convention list  in the 'Members' section to see people who have not indicated a roommate and contact them.
